    Canada World Youth

    Since 2004, a 6 months exchange programme between South African and Canadian youth has been happening every year. The Volunteer Centre is coordinating this event for the South African people and projects. You can read some more information about this programme under the Youth Exchange Programmes menu.

  • Youth on route to volunteer placement

    Global Exchange

    From October 2006 until March 2007, a group of young South Africans and English have participated to an exchange programme including living within host families and working for common interest organizations, for 3 months in the UK in Selby and 3 months in South Africa, in Queenstown.

  • Office Volunteer

    Intergen Project

    A programme run by Karen Mentor from the satellite office in Mitchell's Plain, where young volunteers visit elderly and do some activities with them. Both learn a lot from each other and this tightens the intergenerational links.

    In October 2007 we gave an Office Volunteer Training in Beaufort West. Some 16 volunteers attended the training, and they gained a lot of skills.
